At 5:43 a.m., officers responded to the car crash where they found a Chevy Avalanche had overturned, Washington Township police said.
A preliminary investigation revealed the Chevy was traveling southbound on Route 31 north when it left the roadway, striking the guardrail and bridge abutment before rolling over into a ditch, police said. The driver of the Chevy was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. Route 31 was closed for three and a half hours police said.
The driver has not been publicly identified.
